Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç attended the 1st International Medical Congress of Turkish Speaking Countries (TÜRKTIP2025) event, held on 16-19 October 2025 at Kaya Artemis Hotel, as a guest speaker. Aiming to encourage information sharing and enhance interdisciplinary collaborations, said congress acted as an important platform bringing together scientists and healthcare professionals from different countries.
The congress which took part with the participation of Turkish scientists from Asia, Anatolia and Balkans, addressed current topics in various fields, especially focusing on Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, Paediatrics, Internal Medicine and its subspecialties, Cardiology and Sports Medicine.
Attending the opening session titled “Collaboration on Health Education among Turkish Speaking Countries” held on Friday, 17 October 2025, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç underscored the significance of international collaboration in health education. Prof. Dr. Kılıç also emphasized that fostering academic collaboration among Turkish speaking countries would not only improve the quality of healthcare services but also support scientific advancement across the region.
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Kılıç highlighted that EMU, founded in 1979, is a well-established state university with an integrated educational system. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Kılıç pointed out that the post-pandemic period has witnessed major technological progress in health sciences, which in turn has fostered greater international cooperation.
Sharing details about the EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty, Prof. Dr. Kılıç explained that the faculty offers a joint program with Marmara University, ensuring that students’ theoretical and practical training needs are successfully fulfilled through this partnership. He further noted that the EMU Faculty of Dentistry collaborates with the University of Health Sciences under a similar program, highlighting that such academic partnerships play a key role in enhancing educational quality.
Prof. Dr. Kılıç mentioned that he participated in the Turkic Universities Union meeting held in Uzbekistan, where he emphasized the importance of increasing academic mobility and mutual cooperation. Prof. Dr. Kılıç underlined the value of strengthening inter-university exchange programs and stated that EMU attaches great importance to joint initiatives with Turkic countries. Prof. Dr. Kılıç also stated that the collaborations and exemplary projects realized serve as concrete examples of academic solidarity within the Turkic world, describing TÜRKTIP2025 as a key gathering that fosters knowledge exchange and academic engagement in the field of health among Turkish-speaking nations.
