As part of the cerebrations held for the 102th year anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, traditional “29 October Republic Day Youth March” was organized in coordination with Eastern Mediterranean University Atatürk Research and Application Center (EMU-ATAUM) and EMU Atatürk Ideology Club (ADK). The march took place on Wednesday, 29 October 2025 at 07:23 p.m., starting from EMU Atatürk (CL) Square and ending in front of the Famagusta Development Academy (MAGEM).
The march which commenced with A Minute of Silence and National Anthem, featured students carrying Turkish flag and torches, singing anthems in unison, and celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the Republic with great enthusiasm.
The march was highlighted by the massive flags of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Around a thousand students took part, creating a vibrant scene with waving flags and glowing torches throughout the procession.
EMU Vice Rector for Students Affairs Prof. Dr. Sonuç Zorlu, Director of Student Development, Events and Sports Affairs Directorate Cemal Kılıç, EMU Student Council, EMU student clubs and many EMU personnel members attended the event. Moreover, members of Famagusta also accompanied the students with their applauses.
The march ended at the Famagusta Development Academy (MGA), concluding with the reading of the Address to the Youth and the Student Pledge.
