EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç Serves as a Co-Chair at MTCON 2026

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç participated in the 7th Conference on Managing Tourism Across Continents –MTCON2026, as a co-chair. Recognized among the most prestigious academic initiatives in the field of tourism, the event took place between 29 April and 2 May 2026.

Co-chaired by Roya Rahimi of the University of Wolverhampton and Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, this prominent international conference brought together academics, researchers, and industry experts from across different regions of the world. The event provided an important platform for scientific exchange and scholarly discussions aimed at contributing to the future development of the tourism sector.

Held under the theme “Tourism for a Better World,” the conference aimed to develop solutions to the global challenges faced by the tourism industry and to contribute scientifically toward a more sustainable future. Bringing together more than 200 researchers from various countries around the world, the conference provided a platform for sharing current research, innovative approaches, and scientific studies in the field of tourism.

Expressing his contentment on participating as a co-chair in the international congress, Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated; “Tourism represents not only one of the strongest industries bringing people and cultures together across the world, but also a strategic area that stands at the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and international collaboration. Co-chairing such a prestigious and globally recognized congress is a great privilege both for myself and for Eastern Mediterranean University.
