Organized annually by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Student Development, Events and Sports Affairs Directorate, this year’s “Basketball Cup on Nations” tournament was held with the participation of 10 teams: Sudan, Uganda, England, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Gambia, Kenya, Libta, Eswatini and Nigeria. The tournament concluded with the final matches held in previous days. Of the four teams that reached the final round, the Sudan Team claimed the championship title. The Türkiye Team secured second place, followed by the Nigeria Team in third place and the Uganda Team in fourth place.

Awards Presented

Following the final matches, an award ceremony was held during which the teams placing in the top four were presented with medals, while the top three teams were awarded trophies. Within the scope of the tournament, the Fair Play Team Award was presented to the Uganda Team. Athletes who stood out through their individual performances were also honored with various awards. Ulaş Ömer received the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award, the Slam Dunk Award was presented to Kemal Arda Sezgin, and the Three-Point Shooting Award was given to Antony Emanuel. Gifts were presented to the athletes who ranked in these respective categories.

The awards were presented to ranking teams and athletes by EMU Board of Trustees (VYK) Member Özdinç Akdel, EMU Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Sonuç Zorlu, Student Development, Events and Sports Affairs Director Cemal Kılıç, and personnel members of the directorate.
