Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Center for Women’s Studies (CWS) was featured in an important publication which comprehensively focuses on studies conducted on women studies in Türkiye. The activities of EMU-CWS was included in the publication titled “Women’s Studies Application and Research Center Report in Science, Engineering and Technology: The Societal Contributions of Women’s Research Centers in Türkiye”, prepared by Istanbul Technical University (ITU).
The sections of the book relating to EMU-CWS were prepared with contributions from the Center’s Chairperson, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süheyla Üçışık Erbilen, and Aleyna Mutlu Alkaşi. Published by ITU Press, the study examines 128 women’s research centers operating across Türkiye and provides a comprehensive analysis of their activities in the areas of gender equality, women’s empowerment, and interdisciplinary academic research.
Making remarks on the matter, EMU-CWS Chairperson Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süheyla Üçışık Erbilen stated that being featured in the publication has provided significant academic visibility for the Center. Emphasizing the importance of sharing research and initiatives in the field of women’s studies at both national and international levels, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erbilen noted that EMU-CWS remains committed to advancing its work on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and awareness-raising activities.
