EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç Holds a Series of Meetings in Ankara During Visit for the Interuniversity Council Meeting

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) continues to strengthen its ties with national and international higher education stakeholders while actively contributing to platforms that shape the future of higher education. In this regards, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç travelled to Ankara in recent days to hold a series of official meetings. As part of his program, Prof. Dr. Kılıç attended the 264th Meeting of the Interuniversity Council, held at the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK), which brought together university rectors from across Türkiye and representatives of relevant higher education institutions. During the meeting, participants exchanged views on current developments in the higher education system, with discussions focusing on academic development, quality assurance processes, and strengthening inter-university cooperation.

A Visit to the President of YÖK

During his visit, Prof. Dr. Kılıç met with the President of the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, to exchange views on the ongoing developments at EMU as well as current issues in the field of higher education.

The meeting focused on EMU’s initiatives and future goals in the areas of education, research, quality assurance, and internationalisation, while also providing an opportunity for a comprehensive discussion on current developments affecting the higher education systems of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The two also exchanged views on quality-oriented transformation in higher education, enhancing international competitiveness, and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation.
