Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation faculty member Prof. Dr. Berkiye Kırmızıgil and Assist. Prof. Dr. Jeffry Chauchat, Coordinator of the Exercise and Sport Sciences Program within the Department of Sports Sciences, served as translation editors for ComplexCore – Basics to Specifics, authored by internationally renowned performance and rehabilitation specialist Roman Jahoda. Published in Turkish by Hipokrat Kitabevi, the book is regarded as an important achievement reflecting EMU’s commitment to international academic collaboration in the fields of Exercise and Sport Sciences and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.

The academic collaboration began with the ComplexCore+ Levels 1–2–3 Certification Courses held at EMU on 26–27 May 2022. Organized by Prof. Dr. Berkiye Kırmızıgil and Assist. Prof. Dr. Jeffry Chauchat, the training sessions provided students in the fields of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Exercise and Sport Sciences with opportunities to acquire advanced knowledge and practical skills.

Following the certification courses held in 2022, the EMU academics were invited to ASAPES in Azerbaijan, where they taught as visiting faculty members. Prof. Dr. Berkiye Kırmızıgil delivered both theoretical and practical lectures and training sessions on manual therapy and kinesio taping, while Assist. Prof. Dr. Jeffry Chauchat taught courses in biomechanics, training theory, sports biology, movement theory, strength training, and functional anatomy. This academic engagement contributed to strengthening inter-institutional collaboration and enhancing EMU’s regional academic visibility.

The Turkish edition of ComplexCore – Basics to Specifics serves as an important resource contributing to the Turkish academic literature. Featuring more than 600 structured exercise variations, the book provides comprehensive coverage of mobility, flexibility, stability and strength, proprioception, and coordination. It also offers evidence-based guidance for the management of more than 25 musculoskeletal conditions, while presenting practical information for physiotherapists, coaches, patients, and athletes. By combining fundamental principles with advanced therapeutic and performance-oriented approaches, the book is regarded as a valuable reference that establishes a strong link between training, rehabilitation, and sports performance.

The publication of the Turkish edition of ComplexCore – Basics to Specifics represents the latest milestone in the long-standing professional collaboration between EMU academics and Roman Jahoda. A former judoka with multiple World Cup achievements, Jahoda has worked with elite athletes as the Chief Physiotherapist for Elite Referees under UEFA. He currently serves as Program Director of the Physical Education and Rehabilitation in Sports Program at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport (ASAPES). In addition, he continues his work as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ComplexCore, a company specializing in movement analysis, core stability assessment, and performance optimization.
