Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Pharmacy has added yet another achievement to its ongoing efforts to ensure quality in education and compliance with international standards. The Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) undergraduate programs, along with the PhD Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences offered by the EMU Faculty of Pharmacy, have been accredited for a period of five years by the international accreditation body, the Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS).
The accreditation is particularly significant as it demonstrates that the EMU Faculty of Pharmacy’s teaching and learning infrastructure, academic staff, program content, student opportunities, quality assurance processes, and approach to academic development have been evaluated in accordance with international standards.
Gülcan: “Two Prominent Accreditations in Two Years”
EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. H. Ozan Gülcan stated that the accreditation represents an important indicator of the Faculty’s commitment to international quality standards and said, “We are extremely proud and delighted that the MPharm and PharmD undergraduate programs offered by our Faculty of Pharmacy, along with the PhD Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, have been accredited by AHPGS for a period of five years. Following the accreditation of our MPharm and PharmD programs last year by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), one of the most prestigious international accreditation bodies in the field of pharmacy education, receiving AHPGS accreditation is yet another strong indication of our Faculty’s educational quality and compliance with international standards. As a result, over the past two years, our Faculty has been accredited by two prominent international accreditation bodies in the field of pharmacy education. Being the only Faculty of Pharmacy among pharmacy faculties in the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to hold accreditation from both ACPE and AHPGS represents a particularly significant achievement for both our Faculty and our University.” Prof. Dr. Gülcan also extended his gratitude to the EMU administration, particularly the academic and administrative staff whose dedication, contributions, and efforts played an important role in achieving this significant success, as well as to everyone who contributed to the accreditation processes.
Rector Prof. Dr. Kılıç: “A Reflection of Our Commitment to Continuous Improvement”
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that the accreditation of three programs offered by the Faculty of Pharmacy by AHPGS is an important reflection of EMU’s educational approach, which places quality and internationalization at its core. Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated: “As EMU, within the framework of our 2030 Vision, we regard international quality standards as one of the fundamental pillars of our teaching and learning activities. The accreditation of three programs offered by our Faculty of Pharmacy by AHPGS for a period of five years is a tangible reflection of the importance our University attaches to academic quality and continuous improvement. I congratulate our Faculty of Pharmacy for the high-quality education it provides to our students, its strong academic staff, and its research capacity, and I extend my sincere gratitude to all our academics and staff whose efforts contributed to this significant achievement.”
