The Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program, conducted under the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences, continues to provide undergraduate graduates who are citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and wish to pursue a career in teaching with the professional knowledge, skills, and competencies they need.
The one-year long program consisting of two semesters has total of 10 courses with 25 credits. The program includes courses such as Introduction to Educational Sciences, Educational Psychology, Assessment and Evaluation in Education, Principles and Methods of Teaching, Classroom Management, Instructional Technologies and Material Design, Guidance, and Special Teaching Methods. In the final semester of the program, students have the opportunity to put the knowledge and skills they have acquired into practice by completing a teaching practice at a secondary education institution appropriate to their undergraduate field of study as part of the Teaching Practice course.
Class Hours Suitable for Working Students and Graduates
The program, which accepts registrations for either the fall or spring semester, schedules its classes with working students and graduates in mind. Accordingly, classes are held on weekdays after 4:30 p.m. The program fee is 63,000 TL per semester in total, including Value Added Tax (VAT), the Student Services Fund, and the file opening fee.
First-Place Achievement from EMU Graduate Erce Aytaç
One of the most recent examples of the program’s contribution to its graduates’ career journeys is the success of EMU graduate Erce Aytaç. Aytaç made the EMU community proud by achieving first place in this year’s Information Technologies Teaching Examination.
Having completed his undergraduate studies at EMU Information Technology Undergraduate Program, Aytaç also completed the EMU Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program in preparation for a career in teaching. By combining his academic background in information technology with the teaching knowledge and skills he acquired through pedagogical formation training, Aytaç’s achievement once again demonstrated the importance of quality undergraduate education and pedagogical formation training in professional development.
