The 3-on-3 Beach Volleyball Tournament and “Colour Fest”, organized in collaboration with Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Famagusta Municipality (GMB), and the Famagusta Youth Council, brought young people together for a weekend filled with sports, music, and entertainment. Held at the EMU Beach Club, the two-day event saw participants compete in beach volleyball while also enjoying a variety of colorful activities and memorable moments.
41 Teams Competed for Championship
The 3-on-3 Beach Volleyball Tournament, hosted at the EMU Beach Club, concluded with strong participation from young athletes. A total of 41 teams competed in the tournament, which featured U13 and U17 women’s categories. The event brought together 17 teams in the U13 category and 24 teams in the U17 category, with a total of 45 matches played throughout the tournament.
During the two-day tournament, young athletes stood out not only for their competitive performances but also for their team spirit and sportsmanship. In the U13 category, the trio of Derin-Gökçe-Almina claimed first place, followed by Yaynur-Günay-Eylül in second place and Büğlem-Tuğsem-Aslin in third. In the U17 category, Büşra-Melek-Azra secured first place, while Neriman-Berre-Öyküm finished second and Kayra-Karmen-İrem placed third.
Büşra Duran was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the U17 category, while Gökçe Tepeci received the same distinction in the U13 category. Awards were presented to the top-ranking athletes by representatives of the EMU Student Development, Activities and Sports Affairs Directorate and Famagusta Municipality.
Sports Followed by a Colourful Festival
The energy of the weekend reached its peak with the “Colour Fest” held following the tournament. Drawing strong interest from young participants, the event brought together music, dance, and entertainment, featuring a variety of activities including karaoke and a foam party.
The EMU Beach Club was filled with vibrant scenes throughout the day as young people enjoyed the festivities and made the most of the weekend following the competitive excitement of the beach volleyball tournament.
Sports and Social Interaction Come Together for Young People
The two-day event offered young participants more than an opportunity to showcase their sporting abilities; it also provided a vibrant social setting that strengthened team spirit, encouraged new friendships, and fostered greater social interaction.
Organized in collaboration with EMU, Famagusta Municipality, and the Famagusta Youth Council, the event gave young people the opportunity to enjoy an active and social weekend centered around sports, while once again highlighting the EMU Beach Club as an important venue for youth and sporting events.
