“Finance Day” Event Organized at EMU Faculty of Business and Economics

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Business and Economics, Department of Banking and Finance organized an event titled “Finance Day”. Held at the Faculty of Business and Economics, the event commenced with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Besim, the Dean of EMU Faculty of Business and Economics.

Within the scope of the event, a debate competition themed around behavioural finance was held among the students. The team that excelled and secured first place was presented with a gift voucher sponsored by the EMU KOOP MAR. Moreover, as part of the “Investments” course, top-performing students in the investment competition showcased their strategies before a panel of judges. Based on the jury’s assessment, the most successful participant was honoured with an award.

The event also featured a presentation highlighting the activities carried out by the Department of Banking and Finance throughout the semester. In addition, an informational session was held regarding the initiatives organized by the EMU Center for Financial Regulation and Risk Management.Students from the Department of Banking and Finance delivered presentations on topics such as sentiment analysis and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).

Honour and High Honour Certificates, and CFA Certificates of Participation Presented

Within the scope of the “Finance Day” event, students who achieved exceptional academic success during the Fall Semester of the 2024–2025 Academic Year and earned honours or high honours distinctions were awarded their certificates. Moreover, students who participated in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program received official certificates of participation.

The event concluded with a group photo shoot. Furthermore, the Head of EMU Department of Banking and Finance Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nigâr Taşpınar made remarks and said; “We are proud of our students’ achievements. We will continue to contribute to their individual and academic developments by organizing events like this one”.
