Collaboration Protocol Signed Between EMU and USKAID

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and International Social Cultural and Academic Relations Association (USKAİD) signed a protocol concerning the identification of collaboration framework in academic, social and cultural fields. As part of the said protocol, EMU will contribute to the collaboration with its academic cadre, students and research opportunities. On the other hand, USKAİD will provide supports to projects through its experts, field studies and local collaborations. The parties will act within the framework of the memorandum of understanding in terms of financing the joint activities.

During the protocol signing session held at the EMU Rector’s Office building, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and, USKAİD Chairperson and Lawyer Selman Yaray signed the protocol on behalf of their respective institutions. Present during the said ceremony were EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, EMU General Secretary Derviş Ekşici and a delegation from USKAİD.

In his speech, USKAİD Chairperson and Lawyer Yaray, referred to a previous symposium organized in collaboration with EMU and stated; “During the symposium we held previously, the university team made invaluable contributions, resulting in an exceptional and enriching experience for us. Although USKAİD is a recently established organization, our members possess substantial expertise. By channelling this experience through a structured institutional framework, we have begun launching impactful initiatives. The symposium evolved into a widely recognized international summit, which brought us great pride. We are confident that the cooperation protocol signed today will serve as a foundation for even more ambitious programs and projects in the future”.

Also making remarks on the topic, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç expressed that the university is honoured to be hosting an event organized by USKAİD. Noting that EMU views such collaborations and partnerships as essential for reinforcing institutional relationships, Prof. Dr. Kılıç explained that this international agreement, rooted in social and cultural cooperation, represents a foundational step toward broader joint initiatives between the parties. Emphasizing that each institution carries specific responsibilities within the framework of this collaboration, Prof. Dr. Kılıç underlined that EMU’s contribution would primarily focus on the academic and scientific fields. He also conveyed the university’s satisfaction with the signing of this protocol.
