Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Tourism, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management graduate Cihan Küçükçavdar has recently been appointed as the new Executive Chef of Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center. Having over 20 years of experience in culinary management, Küçükçavdar stands out with his achievements in both national and international platforms. Küçükçavdar aims to deliver a one-of-a-kind culinary experience at Hilton Istanbul Bomonti, featuring its own creative recipes and signature cocktails.

“First Ever Turkish Chef de Cuisine in Ankara Hilton”

After graduating from EMU Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Küçükçavdar pursued an internship in management in America, gaining experience in world cuisine. By working in the most prestigious restaurants of New York, Küçükçavdar built a wealth of international experience. Upon returning to Türkiye, he joined the Hilton brand as an Assistant Head Chef at Adana Hilton, and later made history as the first Turkish Chef de Cuisine at Ankara Hilton, marking a major career achievement.

Küçükçavdar, a distinguished graduate of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), highlighted in his statement that his education there offered more than just theoretical learning, it also placed strong emphasis on practical, industry-oriented experience. He noted that the most valuable takeaway from his time at EMU was the hands-on training tailored to the gastronomy sector. Küçükçavdar further explained that his education at EMU not only helped him develop professional skills but also prepared him to keep up with the rapid changes in the culinary world and draw creativity from diverse cultures.
