EMU Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture Visits Chamber of Interior Architects

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture paid a visit to the Chamber of Interior Architects (ICMO) operating under the Union of the Chamber of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects (KTMMOB). Potential future collaborations were discussed during the said visit which was attended by President of the Chamber of Interior Architects Pembe Komut, Executive Board Member Sabri Tonyalı and İsmet Birman, Head of EMU Department of Interior Architecture Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afet Coşkun and, EMU Department of Interior Architecture academic staff member and the Chair of Accreditation Board Prof. Dr. Özlem Olgaç Türker.

During the meeting, Pembe Komut, President of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Interior Architects, underlined the value of chamber membership for aspiring interior architects as a means to gain a deeper understanding of the profession. Komut also pointed out the significant role that universities play in supporting this journey. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Coşkun emphasized that EMU places strong emphasis on preserving and enhancing the educational standards of the interior architecture profession, noting that the university takes an active role in accurately representing the profession at all stages. Highlighting the importance of quality assurance in education and efforts toward international accreditation, Dr. Coşkun stated their commitment to educating well-prepared, conscientious professionals who uphold ethical principles and can adapt to contemporary demands.
