Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Arts and Sciences Faculty hosted students from the Değirmenlik High School. As part of a technical field trip, high school students visited Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories operating under the Faculty and, received information on scientific studies.
During the visit, the students had the chance to participate in various experiences led by academics while getting information on research being carried out in the lab environment. Attracting great interest from the students, the event aimed to increase students’ interest towards science and to provide them an environment to closely experience the atmosphere of a university.
At the end of the said visit, Dean of EMU Arts and Sciences Faculty Prof. Dr. Mehmete Ali Özarslan, Chair of EMU Departments of Physics and Chemistry Prof. Dr. İzzet Sakallı and Vice Chair of EMU Department of Chemistry Prof. Dr. Musafa Gazi presented certificates of participation to the visiting students.
Held with the participation of 50 students, the event was fruitful in terms of increasing students’ awareness on science and academic life. Students and teachers of Değirmenlik High School extended their gratitude to EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences for their hospitality.
