Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Health Sciences Faculty, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics held the fifth edition of its “Intercultural Food Festival” on Tuesday, 17 December 2024 between 12:00 p.m. and 02:00 p.m. The event aimed to provide the students an opportunity to socialize through introducing their traditional cuisines. Students from different countries and cultures attended the event with their cultural and traditional dishes and recipes.
Dean of the Health Sciences Faculty Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Yurt and Assist. Prof. Dr. Asiye Yeter Başaran, Head of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Gözde Okburan, Head of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department Prof. Dr. Mitat Koz, Head of the Department of Nursing Prof. Dr. Sevinç Taştan as well as academic staff members and students of Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and Nursing attended the event.
The promotional brochures handed out at the event included recipes, ingredients, and the nutritional information for each portion of the meals. Following the event, which was held with strong participation, certificates of attendance were presented to the students and Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Hülyam Eren, who effectively coordinated the event. The certificates were presented by Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gözde Okburan, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and other faculty members from the department.
