Paul Robinson, a British citizen who taught English for a semester at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School (FLEPS), donated a collection of original Hollywood videotapes that he had amassed over many years to the EMU Faculty of Communication.
Robinson’s donation to the EMU Faculty of Communication consisted of a total of thousand original videotapes from different genres, two video players and a CD convertor. The Dean’s Office at EMU Faculty of Communication noted that the collection, which spans from the golden age of Hollywood to contemporary cinema, will serve as a significant resource in the archives of the EMU Faculty of Communication for research in film history and media analysis.
Thanking Paul Robinson for his meaningful contribution to the faculty, the Vice Dean of EMU Faculty of Communication Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Türksoy stated that they put utmost care in enhancing the archive of Faculty of Communication. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Türkoğlu highlighted that such donations are incredibly important for students to grasp how videotapes were utilized in the past, as opposed to the present digital era.
