Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Vocational School of Information Technologies, Student Development, Events and Sports Affairs Directorate and Alumni and Career Development Unit co-organized a “Career Talks” event which hosted Alper Biberci and Burak Öz, 2028 graduates of EMU Department of Information Systems and Technologies.
Alper Biberci, Corporate Business Solutions Manager at Özak Global Holding Inc., who has achieved notable success in his professional career, delivered a presentation titled “Sektörel Rönesans: Farklı Disiplinlerde İş Hayatı / Sectoral Renaissance: Working Life Across Different Disciplines”. Burak Öz, Technical Manager at Türk Telekom, gave two presentations titled “Kariyerin Yeni Mimarı: Yapay Zekâ ile Dönüşen İş Dünyası / The New Architect of Careers: The Business World Transformed by Artificial Intelligence” and “Geleceği Kodlamak: Yapay Zekâ Çağında Stratejik Kariyer Yönetimi / Coding the Future: Strategic Career Management in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”.The event was organized with the contributions of Raygan Kansoy, Instructor at the EMU Vocational School of Information Technologies.
In his presentation, Alper Biberci addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on various sectors, stating that while AI will not completely replace the human workforce, individuals who are able to use artificial intelligence effectively will gain a significant advantage.
In his presentation titled “The New Architect of Careers: The Business World Transformed by Artificial Intelligence”, Burak Öz highlighted the importance of communication skills, personal development, and professional networks in career planning, in addition to technical expertise. He also emphasized that Prompt Engineering is expected to become one of the key professions of the future.
The event also featured a joint presentation titled “Coding the Future: Strategic Career Management in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, which explored strategic approaches to career planning in the AI era and provided students with valuable guidance for shaping their future careers.
Expressing their pleasure at returning to EMU 18 years after their graduation, Biberci and Öz emphasized that the knowledge and experience they gained at the University played a significant role in shaping their career journeys. Sharing their professional experiences, the challenges they encountered, and the opportunities they pursued through real-life examples, the speakers provided students with valuable insights and guidance. The event also addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on the business world, and the speakers responded to questions from the audience.
The event concluded with the presentation of plaques to the speakers by Raygan Kansoy, Instructor at the EMU Vocational School of Information Technologies.
