Final year students of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing organized a talk event within the scope of ‘Management in Nursing (HMSR 410)’ conducted under the supervision of the Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Sevinç Taştan, and faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hülya Fırat Kılıç and Dr. Gülsen Müsteyde Altan Denizer. The event featured Nurgül Hırka, Head Nurse at Cyprus Central Hospital, who addressed topics such as career planning, recruitment, and job interviews.
Sharing her 34 years of professional experience with the students, Hırka stated that she has held managerial positions for a significant part of her career and has played an active role in job interviews. She outlined the key qualifications and essential criteria expected from candidates during recruitment processes, particularly for newly graduated nurses. Emphasizing the importance of preparation for job interviews, Hırka highlighted that both personal and professional readiness, as well as researching the working conditions, remuneration, and social benefits of prospective institutions, are of critical importance.
The talk event concluded with a practical session titled “Motivational Job Interview” by Tuğçe Uzun, a final year student at the Department of Nursing.
