Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Center for Cyprus Studies (EMU-KAM) organized a seminar titled “Spatial Planning and Concept of Land Management in Germany” on Tuesday, 21 April 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at BEA 5 Amphitheatre located in the Faculty of Business and Economics. The event hosted Prof. Dr. Andreas Hendricks as a guest speaker.
EMU-KAM’s Chairperson Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, Vice Dean of EMU Faculty of Tourism Assist. Prof. Dr. Tuna Karatepe, Educational Sciences Department Head Prof. Dr. Canan Zeki, Head of Department of Business Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Erkut, EMU-KAM Executive Board Members Prof. Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seray Kabaran, faculty members and students attended the said event.
During the seminar, Prof. Dr. Hendricks delivered an in-depth presentation on spatial planning and land management practices in Germany. His talk highlighted key topics such as sustainable urban development, land use strategies, and the multi-layered nature of planning processes. Drawing on concrete examples from Germany, he offered participants valuable insights from an international perspective. The event also addressed contemporary approaches in spatial planning, and following the presentation, participants had the opportunity to engage in a discussion by asking questions and exchanging views on the issues they were most interested in.
At the end of the seminar, EMU-KAM Chairperson Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu presented Prof. Dr. Hendricks souvenirs unique to EMU. The event concluded with a group photo shoot.
