Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Communication, Department of Public Relations and Advertising students carried out a purposeful social responsibility project within the scope of Social Responsibility (PRAD-303) course and under the coordination of Assist. Prof. Dr. Umut Ayman. As part of the project held under the umbrella of EMU Community Involvement Center (CIC), painting of Ötüken Special Education Center students were displayed in an exhibition and donation event organized by EMU students Deniz Babur, Eda Su Albayrak, Nisa Kuş and Sudenaz Tuncergil.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition saw great participation from visitors. The event sought to share the artistic work of special education students with the public, to increase social awareness and to support the educational activities of the special education center. While observing the unique art pieces of the students, visitors also had the chance to make donations and contributed to the project.
Revenue of the 3-day exhibition was donated to the administration of Ötüken Special Education Center through the medium of the Parent-Teacher Association, to be used in the educational and developmental activities of the institution. Ötüken Special Education Center administration and EMU Department of Public Relations and Advertising students expressed their gratitude to all the families, participants and donors for their contributions.
