Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) continues to be a center of attraction for international students, while also hosting yet another meaningful story that reflects how the trust placed in the University, as a school of thought, is passed down through generations without hesitation

Seth Quarcoo, a 2006 graduate of Banking and Finance program within the EMU Faculty of Business and Economics, is now a senior executive in international banking in Africa. His success represents not only a personal achievement but also a strong example of EMU’s impact as a globally recognized educational tradition.

Having personally experienced the quality of education at EMU, Quarcoo later chose the University for his children without hesitation, seeing it as the continuation of a trusted educational tradition. His wife, Lydia Quarcoo, shared this confidence and, after her own assessment, also chose EMU, where she began her PhD studies in International Relations.

The couple’s children are also continuing their education at the same institution. Zoe Quarcoo is studying Nursing, while Daniel Quarcoo is enrolled in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The family members emphasize their satisfaction with EMU’s academic opportunities and international environment

“This Trust Is No Coincidence — It Is the Result of a Tradition”

Commenting on the matter, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated: “We take great pride in being chosen by students from different countries. EMU is not just a university; it is a strong educational tradition that continues through its graduates. The fact that our alumni share their experiences with their families, and that they choose EMU with the same confidence and without hesitation, is a clear reflection of our educational quality. The story of Seth Quarcoo and his family is a global example of this tradition”.

Quarcoo’s journey with EMU, which began years ago, has now taken on a new meaning with his family. It stands as a powerful example of how trust in the EMU tradition is passed on from generation to generation.
