Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University signed a protocol for organizing a joint congress. The protocol was signed on Friday, 25 April 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at EMU Rector’s Office by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and the International Researchers, Statisticians and Young Statisticians Congress (IRSYSC) 2025 Congress Organizing Committee Chairperson Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Gündüz. EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe was also present during the signing session.
With the signed protocol, it is aimed to co-organize the annual International Researchers, Statisticians, and Young Statisticians Congress (IRSYSC) in 2025 through a collaboration between Eastern Mediterranean University and Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University.
Making remarks on the topic, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç explained that the university organized the signing ceremony to host an international conference aimed at promoting academic development, emphasizing that one of its key responsibilities is to produce and apply science. Prof. Dr. Kılıç also stated that the International Researchers, Statisticians, and Young Statisticians Congress, which will be held jointly with Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University and hosted by EMU, will be a prestigious event. Prof. Dr. Kılıç expressed his hope that the congress would meet the expectations of both institutions and focus on scientific innovation.
In his address during the protocol signing session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gündüz expressed their contentment on signing the protocol with EMU and that the said congress is a prestigious event held especially in the field of statistics in Türkiye. Providing more information about the congress, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gündüz shared their excitement to be organizing the 9th edition of the congress in collaboration with EMU.
